Day 14: Admin Drop Down Window (WP Plugin) is a great thing

If you’re not familiar with WordPress, it’s the content management system that I use for my business website and this blog. It’s a great web-based system that lets users use “plugins” that provide extra functionality.

Admin Drop Down Menu moves all the menu items to the top menu bar instead of along the left side of the dashboard.

One of the few things I dislike about WordPress is the menu on the dashboard. This is the area where one creates new blog posts or pages of a website. What I don’t like is that the dashboard has the main menu items on the left side. I know studies show that we read left to right, but I’m used to dealing with website navigation from along the top of the page. Fortunately, there’s a plugin for that!

Admin Drop Down Window  takes everything from the left side and turns it into what I consider standard web navigation. This makes it easier for me to update my blog or website by saving me time and frustration. Both make me very happy! I work on other WordPress sites that don’t use this plugin and it’s always refreshing to return to my own sites and find the back end laid out how I want them. That gives me a smile, fo’ sho’!

The 31 Days of Simple Joys is a blogging challenge that more than 1,100 bloggers are doing across the country. We each chose a theme and are writing on that theme every day in October. To me, Simple Joys are the simple things that happen throughout one’s day that put a smile on their face or just give a happy feeling. What are some of your Simple Joys?
