It’s hard to believe that it was a week ago today that I returned home from the hospital. I’m doing a lot better than I was a week ago, but I still have a long ways to go. I can’t do anything by myself yet and have yet to get dressed. I am off the prescription pain medications finally and I’m sleeping about six hours a night so that is good. God bless liquid adult Tylenol! Actually, I’m down to taking only about three days in a 24-hour period.

I’ve received several bouquets of flowers and cards, which has been nice. It’s also been great to have Mom here to take care of me. I would be completely helpless without her and I don’t have any idea how I can thank her. Dad is coming in tonight to spend some time with us and he’ll go back to Wichita after the surgeon follow-up visit on Wednesday.

The weather here has turned cooler and I’m so glad. I get so hot at night right now. We still have the AC on even though it got down to 39 degrees last night. Last night was the first time since the surgery that I didn’t feel incredibly hot when I slept.

Not much else is going on here, I’m still in a position where accomplishing my daily shower is a big thing to celebrate. It’s kinda funny. I’m not getting bored though, I’m really not ready to get back to work at all. I could take a lot more time if I thought I could.

Have a wonderful day,

Jamie
