This may not seem like it’s related to my surgery, which this blog is dedicated to being about. But to me, it’s about getting my life back in order.
That said, I love this song! It’s always been one I’ve enjoyed simply because it’s pretty but lately as I’ve started this God journey the words have really been reaffirming for me. You see, our relationship with God is just that. WITH GOD. True, we should fellowship with other believers but to me that is no different than say, a diet support group. The fellowship with people going through the same thing will HELP but when it comes down to it you’re the one making choices to lose the weight. That’s how it is with God, I believe. He is the only thing that matters in that relationship. It doesn’t matter about hypocrites in the church or legalistic crap.
Here are the lyrics:
Heart of Worship
Matt Redman
When the music fades and all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring something that’s of worth
That will bless Your heart
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart
I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You
All about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the things I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
All about You, Jesus
King of endless worth, no one could express
How much You deserve
Though I’m weak and poor, all I have is Yours
Every single breath
The lyrics of that song are amazing! I just saw Matt Redman in concert on Sunday night – he performed here in NJ at Continental Airlines Arena with Chris Tomlin, and it was such an awesome night of worship. Whenever I go to contemporary Christian music concerts, the thousands of people singing along is just overwhelming and so powerful.
This is such an awesome song one of my favorites. Very powerful words. Thanks for sharing the lyrics.
FIRST…this is an awesome song, and Matt Rodman can reallyworship and bring others to a point of real worship. OK now for the rest of the story.
Hi I wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Candy, I will be 45 on May 1st!!! I have been looking into gastric bypass for a couple of years. I found very quickly that there are good guys and bad guys out there doing this, so I have done my homework. I have struggled with my weight all my life. I’ve done every program known to man.
I am a critical care nurse/paramedic, but I am unable to work anylong because in 1997 after struggling for sometime they found I had lupus. In 2002 I can more close to death than anyone wants to say. At this time I was maintaind on high dose steroids. They saved my life but now I have an additional 150 to lost. Most doctors don’t want to think about doing this, but I have a major medical problem. My spine is is litterly falling to pieces. There is just no way it can hold my weight especially with osteoperosis, and arthritis. I have ruptured 4 discs and the BEST and safest thing the neuro-surgeon wants is to have me lose weght (100 pounds) RAPIDLY and working with what I have that can only be accomplished by bariatric surgery. I have tried to get approved before (many, many years ago) and I WANT to lose this weight. I just am having to believe that this is the way the Lord is going to get my surgery approved. I now have 3 specialist (not counting the Bariatric doc) who will write my letter of medical need. I think that convincing the baritric doc will be the most difficult (just because of the lupus, which is under control right now) I guess the way I look at this is this way, If I stomach cancer or lung cancer or anything like that they would do surgery to save my life, I don’t see any diffrence. This is the start of my journey, and I would appriciate a cheering section. I go after next week for the start of things (My neuro doc is doing a MRI on my neck to make sure that is not part of the cause of all my pain) . So we will see from there. Actually I welcome this journey. I have been ready for it for a long time. Thanks for being so open and honest about all that went on for you. You look amazing, and I am sure you feel amazing too.
Blessings, Candy
