When I was a kid, we traveled to Beaver Lake in Arkansas nearly every summer. My first photos of myself there are literally when I was about six months old.
Over the years I would travel to Arkansas for other attractions such as Eureka Springs and a family reunion in my early teens. It’s kind of ironic that I now call Northwest Arkansas home yet I don’t travel in my own state that much. A few years ago, John and I tried to go on a couple “Local Adventures” where we stayed in towns that were only about an hour or two away from where we lived in Bentonville. We discovered a few gems!
Those blogs are a bit outdated but in honor of National and State Tourism Week (May 3-11), I asked my fellow Arkansas bloggers to share some of their posts about places they love in our state. The response was amazing! There are several that are about the same place but they offer different perspectives. Some blogs are about an entire town and others are about a specific favorite spot.
I encourage you to take a look, comment on the blogs and maybe come visit us!

Beaver’s Bend is a great old-fashioned swimming hole, if you don’t fall off the dock! See true story, here:
